The 9th of February is the Feast day of Blessed Anne Catherine
Emmerich (8 September 1774 – 9 February 1824).
Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich lived between 1774 and 1824
and was born in Germany to a peasant family. Since she was
young, she received visions of the lives of Jesus, the Virgin Mary,
and the saints. Her guardian angel would appear to her when she
was a child, and Jesus would visit while she was taking care of the
sheep. Even the souls in purgatory would call for her prayers. She
entered the religious life at the age of 28 years old, where she
suffered physically from supernatural phenomena which left her
