On another occasion he said to Gerard:
“You must have been grievously disturbed in your mind at not
being able to receive Holy Communion.”
“No! indeed, Father,” was the reply — worthy of a Saint — “since
Jesus Christ did not wish to come to me, how could I be
discontented?”
