Saint Polycarp of Smyrna

The 23rd of February is the feast day of Saint Polycarp of Smyrna
(AD 69 – 155).
The following is from Butler’s Lives of the Saints:
ST. POLYCARP, Bishop of Smyrna, was a
disciple of St. John. He wrote to the
Philippians, exhorting them to mutual love
and to hatred of heresy. When the apostate
